Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research (ABIPER),Yelahanka, Bangalore celebrated World Pharmacist day and 57 th National Pharmacy week from 22 nd Nov to 29th Nov 2018 at its indoor stadium. The theme for Pharmacist day was “PHARMACIST: YOUR MEDICINES EXPERT”. The major focus of Pharmacist day celebration was on highlighting the role and importance of pharmacist in hospitals and community. The theme for the national pharmacy week was “PHARMACIST FOR HEALTHY INDIA,” mainly focusing on creating awareness on the role of pharmacists and their importance in improving the health of public along with physician and nurses as a team in both hospital and community. On occasion of World Pharmacist Day & 57th National Pharmacy Week, Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research (ABIPER), Yelahanka, Bangalore organized 8seminars and various awareness programs maintaining the health of families and surrounding community like rally, 2day free dental checkup, eye check up camp, blood donation camp, visited to 27 community pharmacies, 25 hospitals, 10 schools and colleges and various co-curricular activities like debate, essay writing, quiz, elocution, painting competitions with an intention to create awareness on role of Pharmacist and his importance in public health services and motivate the students.
The chief guest Dr. K.P Channabasavaraj, Principal & HOD Government college of Pharmacy,Bangalore, while delivering his thought provoking speech on the history & scope of Pharmacist and their role in various sectors, stressed on government programmes, vision 20: 20 and Jan aushadhi.Presiding Dignitary Dr. B A Vishwanath, Chairman, Aditya group of institutions, Senate member RGUHS by his thought provoking speech motivated the upcoming young Pharmacists to inculcate the habit of asking and highlighted the importance of right knowledge to become a complete Pharmacist to contribute good service to society. Guest of honour Mr. Umesh Baikunje, Founder & CEO, Baikunje consultancy, Bangalore by his informative speech inspired the young minds to use the technology to provide medication, optimal treatment and personal medicine.
