World Diabetes Day 2018
World Diabetes Day started in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the World Health Organization (WHO).The day creates awareness about the effects of diabetes globally. The United Nations declared November 14 as an official World Diabetes Day. The day also marks the birth anniversary of scientist and Nobel laureate Frederick Banting who is the co-discoverer of insulin. NSS unit of Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research (ABIPER),Yelahanka, Bangalore organized a Free Diabetes check up camp in association with Swamy Vivekananda Voluntary Blood Bank on 14-11-2018.
The theme of World Diabetes Day 2018 was “The Family and Diabetes.”
Students of Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research (ABIPER), Yelahanka, Bangalore participated in Plog Run conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences,Karnataka on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi and they picked plastic items on the road in Yelahanka.
World Heart Day
World Heart Day is celebrated on September 29 of every year. It is aimed at drawing people’s attention to heart illness and the range of associated health issues. The day is commemorated to promote different preventative steps and changes in lifestyle to avoid any cardiovascular diseases, like heart attack, stroke, heart failure and any other condition related to the same. Cardiovascular disease is the world’s number one killer today. On average, more than 17 million people die from heart-related illnesses every year.
On occasion of World Heart Day staff and students of Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research along with Manasa Trinity Heart Hospital organized a rally on September 29 with an intention to create awareness about the importance of living healthy for a healthy heart.
World Liver Day
The World Liver Day (WLD) is observed every year on April 19 to build awareness and understanding importance of liver in human body and how liver ailments can be treated. As per World Health Organization (WHO), liver diseases are 10th most common cause of death in India. The 2018 theme for WLD is “Riding New Waves in Liver Diagnosis, Staging & Treatment”.
World Liver Day was celebrated in a grand manner at Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research in the college premises.
Self-Injury Awareness Day 2018
Self-Injury Awareness Day (SIAD) is an international awareness day that takes place every year on March 1 and is a day meant for learning about self-injury behaviors and for providing resources to those who are in need of help. An orange ribbon, representing a sign of hope for a misunderstood problem, symbolizes this awareness day. According to the Statistical and Diagnostic Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5), self-harm is formally known as nonsuicidal self-injury disorder (NSSID) as these self-destructive behaviors are carried out without any intention of suicide. Adolescents are at the highest risk for self-harm injury as many studies state that roughly 15% of teenagers and 17-35% of college students have inflicted self-harmful behaviors on themselves. Cutting, skin carving, self-medication, extreme scratching, or burning oneself as well punching or hitting walls to induce pain are examples of self injurious behavior.

Pharm D internship students of ABIPER conducted Counselling Programme on 22nd February 2018 for students of M.P.U. School,Kokkiliputtuga, Srikakulam, AP,regarding maintaince of personal hygiene,self discipline and prevention of some diseases like measles,mumps,typhoid and malaria.
Free Medical Check-Up Camp
“The biggest service to the society is the service of the mankind”. To do so, Pharm D internship students of Aditya BIPER collaborated with Balaji hospital, Kokkiliputtuga, Srikakulam (Dist), AP to celebrate the spirit of service by organizing health check up camp in the Kokkiliputtuga village on 21st February 2018. This camp comprises of Anemia, Hypertension and Diabetes checkups.
World Tuberculosis Day 2018
World Tuberculosis Day is celebrated every year by the people all across the world at International level on 24th of March. It is celebrated to raise the common public awareness about the epidemic disease of tuberculosis as well as get their efforts in order to totally eradicate this disease. Dr. Robert Koch in the year 1882 and amazingly announced by him to the small group of scientists at the “University of Berlin’s Institute of Hygiene” about the cause of tuberculosis. World Tuberculosis Day was celebrated in a grand manner at Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research in the college premises.
The theme of World TB Day 2018 – Wanted: “Leaders for a TB-free world”.
Blood Donation Camp 2018
Blood Donation Camp was conducted on 27 th February 2018 at Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research in coordination with Swamy Vivekananda Voluntary Blood Bank. In the camp many of our college students and staff members donated blood. Blood was collected from donor by Medical team of Swamy Vivekananda Voluntary Blood Bank with the help of our NSS students. We created the awareness about Blood Donation to the nearby village peoples.

WORLD PHARMACIST DAY 2016Every year 25th September is celebrated in world as World Pharmacist Day. During this day Pharmacist create awareness regarding the roles and responsibilitiesof Pharmacist to serve the humanity.
In India, president of Pharmacy Council of India Dr. B. Suresh brought this concept three years back which has created the impact in the society to realize that Pharmaceutical profession is also the leading profession in this country and big careers are there to contribute as pharmacist.
Guests from different areas of pharmacy related fields like regulatory, research marketing, manufacturing, academics, pharmacy practice were invited and they enlightened the students by their motivating speech.

Blood was collected from donar by Medical team of Lions Blood bank with the help of our NSS students. We created the awarness about Blood Donation to the nearby village peoples.
